In this guide, we'll go through how to end or renew a tenancy in Rezi PM. When a tenancy is coming to an end you will have the option to either End or Renew a tenancy.
First, navigate to tenancy within PM. You can first go into a tendency by clicking the navigational bar in the left-hand side of the screen and clicking tenancies.
This will present you a list of tenancies on your account, it'll start with the oldest to newest and you can use the column options to arrange the order as you wish.
If you click on a tenancy it will take you into the tenancy page. On this page you'll be able to see all of the details of the tenancy including the agreement details, next intentions of the tenant and landlord.
Select the Ending/renewing sub-tab or the action menu ‘Renew’. In this screen you will have the options to input what the landlords next intentions are and also the tenant. So if the landlord wants to increase the rent and get a new tenant in, you can click on end tenancy which will give you the option to remarket for let or for sale even.
On the tenant option you will see a similar option that will allow you to mark the next intentions on the tenant. Whether they want to end the tenancy and move to a different lettings property or maybe buy a property.
Once the intentions of the tenant and landlord are matched up then you can select the option on the right side of the screen.
Ending a tenancy
If you select ending then it'll give you options on when to end it. See the image below.
Once you have clicked save on the end tenancy then you will be present with an exit strategy. It'll give you a tick box list of what to do when the tenancy is about to end. You can use any options in this list as none of them are required just there to help you move the tenant out.
Renewing a Tenancy
You also have the option to renew the tenancy from this screen. If in the dropdown on the right you select renew tenancy, it'll give you options to change a few things for the next term. There are different renewal dates you can choose from and also whether to use a new tenancy agreement or to use the existing one.
Once you click save this options, depending on the options you have selected you can generate a new agreement if you have made any amendments to the agreement.
From here the tenancy will renew on the agreed date and the rent demands will continue to generate for the new term.
As Rezi PM runs a nightly job to see what is due tomorrow, the next rent will show up when the next rent is due. Also, if the rent has changed it'll automatically pick up the new rent amount.
Please note that if you charge a renewal fee, you will need to add this to the rent and fee schedule in the tenancy tab. See the
guide here for how to do this.
