Creating and Managing Holding Deposits

The aim of this article is to help explain the flow and handling of Holding deposits within Rezi and Rezi PM. 
How do I request a Holding Deposit?
Holding deposits are added at the time a successful offer is accepted within Rezi.


The value entered in the Offer screen is brought forward to the invoice visible within both Rezi Pre-Tenancy hub and Rezi PM.

Within Rezi PM, this can be found on the tenancy page within the account tab under 'Payable':


How do I mark a Holding Deposit as received?

Navigate to Rezi PM and then Money Due In, the deposit should be present in the list of money. When you have confirmed the deposit has been paid, the money can be marked as received:


Once payment is receipted, if you navigate to the tenancy/Tenants screens within Rezi PM or Pre-Tenancy hub within Rezi, you will see receipt of payment.

Can I receipt payment for Money Owed or holding deposit via Rezi?

No, all invoices identified within the Money Owed grid and Holding deposit grid must be receipted via Rezi PM - > Money Due Out. You can add funds received using the Received funds button, however this will not link to the Holding deposits or Money owed invoices.
 
When Would I Use Receive Funds button?
You can use Receive funds button to receipt payment without going into Rezi PM, this is handy when you want to receipt a upfront credit to the tenants account. Please note, when you receive payment within Rezi, they are marked as uncleared by default and will not automatically link to the Holding deposits or Money owed above.
It is recommended you use Rezi PM to receipt payments by default, this way you can take advantage of additional Rezi PM features: generate and manage invoices, notify user of payment and to provide a full transaction based history.
